Over the weekend, rain did fall in some areas west of the Mississippi River while the East struggled to dry out. As noted in yesterday’s Sunday Commstock report, I have never experienced such an intense dust storm as we did over the last few days. Many who read the report have, but living so close to the Mississippi River and encountering dust storms seems extreme. The amount of dust on my patio furniture is astonishing. However, what is happening in the fields does not always reflect what’s happening in Chicago. The funds were piling on the short side of the corn market last week, adding 98,869 positions to be net short 84,976.
